Profitable Apparel Launches – Your Vision, Our Expertise

Quick Tips: How to Develop Your Own Leggings

Who doesn’t love a good legging? They are an incredibly versatile and comfortable fashion staple that can be worn for working out to running errands (and everything in-between). If you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner looking to launch your own leggings collection, you’ve come to the right place. At ApparelKit, we specialize in fashion design and development, including activewear and athleisure. Here we’ll share some tips on how to develop your own multifaceted leggings and how our business can help guide you through the process.

Leggings

1. Define Your Target Market

Before you start designing your leggings, it’s important to define your target market. Who are you designing these leggings for? Are they for yoga enthusiasts, runners, or fashion-forward individuals? Knowing your target market will help you create a design that will appeal to your audience while simultaneously meeting their needs.

2. Choose the Right Fabric for Leggings

The fabric you choose for your leggings is crucial to their performance and comfort. You’ll want to choose a fabric that is breathable, moisture-wicking, and supportive. Not to mention flattering on all body types. Our company works with a variety of fabric suppliers and can help you choose the best fabric for your leggings based on your target market and design.

3. Create a Design

Once you have your target market and fabric selected, it’s time to create your design. You’ll want to consider factors such as color, pattern, and placement of any logos or branding. Our team at ApparelKit can assist you in creating a design that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional for your target market.

4. Develop a Prototype

Before going into production, it’s important to develop a prototype of your leggings. This will allow you to test the fit, fabric, and design. We can help you create a prototype and make any necessary adjustments before moving into production.

5. Production and Launch

Once your prototype is approved, it’s time to move into production. Let us assist you in finding a manufacturer and helping to manage the production process. We can also assist you in launching your leggings collection, including branding, marketing, and sales strategies.

How it all started

It all started with a swollen face and a sewing machine.

While recovering from just having had my wisdom teeth removed, with two bulky ice packs bandaged around my expanding cheeks, I fell in love with sewing.

From that moment on a fire was lit within me, and I would never see my world the same.

Fast forward years later and suddenly I woke up in a corporate cubicle, staring at an excel spreadsheet, and trying really hard to be someone I wasn’t. Like REALLY HARD.

But as the years went on, my desire to sew & create continued to grow. And yet I continued to try on different personas and search for that perfect position within the corporate world that would fulfill me.

Then finally it hit me. I realized that I was never going to find that dream position in the corporate world. I had to create it.

So with just a small whisper of a belief that it just MIGHT be possible for me to start my own business, and live life on my own terms, I quit my stable corporate job.

I had such little belief in myself that during my exit interview I even said to my boss, “if my business doesn’t work out within the next few months, will you take me back?” How sad!

Thankfully I quickly realized that listening to that small whisper within, and betting on myself, was (and still is) the absolute BEST decision I could have ever made.
